When medical emergencies occur within the county, Ozark County Ambulance offers advanced life support ambulance service. Staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week, they have one full-time ambulance and a second ambulance staffed during times of increased risk. Hospitals

When hospitalization is required or emergency medical service is not available, Ozark County residents have the choice of two full service medical centers located within easy driving distance.

Gainesville Medical Clinic

At the core of healthcare services in Ozark County is the Gainesville Medical Clinic, managed and operated by Ozarks Medical Center in West Plains. The clinic offers lab procedures, X-rays, ultrasounds and stress tests, plus procedures for emergencies such as lacerations and cardiac problems. Missouri Ozarks Community Health

Missouri Ozarks Community Health is centered in Ava, with a satellite clinic in Gainesville on Elm Street, directly behind the Post Office and across the street from the Library. Services include Primary Health Care, Dental Services and a broad range of Family Health services. Clinic hours are Monday-Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Telephone (417) 679-2775.

Theodosia Family Medical Clinic

Theodosia Family Medical Clinic is located on the south side of Hwy 160, west of Theodosia, adjacent to Theodosia Pharmacy. Telephone (417) 273-2300. The clinic is staffed by highly experienced nurse practitioners (NP) and physician assistants (PA). with an off-site doctor supervising.

Long Term Care

Gainesville Health Care Center, a 180 bed skilled nursing facility, has received the highest honors from the Division of Aging, the state agency that inspects nursing facilities in Missouri. The Center provides short-term rehabilitation, long term care, memory care, wound care, palliative care and hospice care.
